According to epicurios Walmart is actually pretty good.

2022/2023 I picked up a bunch of Cafe Bustelo in the 10oz 24 back of bricks like $35 but I’m out. And it’s like triple the price. So…Have an unopened can of Maxwell I think.
But I drink it black, pre ground regardless. The office/church potluck percolators… You can cut the bitterness with some salt so. Id listen to the chiefs regardless
@Tadlem43 so I watched this several months ago. Directly on YouTube. Unprompted. Just the algorithm which. Yes. Bad… But I’m mostly cooking and engineering.little battleship new jersey. Savage. Stuff made here. Project engineering. Etc
I don’t see the walmart segment in the clip or on the table. Do you?
And I know for fact it was and they changed the clip to remove it because if you check their own transcript on their own site.
@Tadlem43 I find it really strange they edited it after the fact. But the transcript is still on their actual website/probably in the way back machine too. I think I prefer darker but I was just gonna grab a can of walmart when I run out
I don’t care, really as long as it is beans. I keep a grinder right next to machine. Creamer makes it taste good regardless… My Sinful Pleasure Starbucks went up $5, so I buy another brand… $25 is just too much for my retired budget.
So don’t take this personally but what are you getting out of fresh ground coffee that’s different than foldgers. If you just dump creamer in and don’t care about the taste?
Is it just a ritual thing for the morning?

He has one I saw with like details it’s not hitting.
But if that’s like a hobby. You can just buy green beans which would be cheaper and you can “roast” them to your desired level in air popcorn popper
And if I can coffee nerd for a moment, ground coffee starts to go stale after 24-48 hours. Whole beans start to go stale around 10 days. Most every coffee you find on the shelves is a blend of just enough of the beans that they can label it with a certain name and then blend it with the cheapest thing they can find. The coffee you buy off the shelf has likely been roasted months ago.
The reason you add cream and sugar to your coffee is because it is old and stale… which makes it bitter. I only roast single estate beans. Fresh coffee is actually almost sweet. I drink it black. But that might be just because I’m lazy
FOLGER’S

@MrGoodGuy I like their instant version. Quick, easy caffeine. I’m not exactly considered a coffee connoisseur.
I have not found any reason to learn to drink coffee.
I will stick with my Di-Hydrogen, Mono-Oxide.
@mycya4me give in too the drugs
Don Fransisco
Whatever is on sale. The creamer makes the taste.
Our local store carries beans from Pacifica. Sadly their warehouse burned because of the fires in Spokane. Hopefully they can get back on their feet.
Anything with a roast date printed on the bag.

@unksol My favorite is Walmart’s Breakfast Blend. But…I’m a simple kinda person.

This is what they forgot to remove.
[Narrator] Great Value
100% Arabica Colombian Ground Coffee.
This one looks lighter.
It could be the roast profile itself.
It also can be the water to coffee ratio.
Drip coffee, I typically like between
like a one-part coffee to 16-parts water.
It smells really nice,
almost like marshmallow sweetness off of it.
This has to be a lighter roasted coffee.
Lighter roast in general,
you see the acidity come through more.
There’s some sweetness to it.
I’m getting a little bit more complexity and clarity
and flavor from this.
I feel like I get a little bit of citrus from it
and then a little bit of dried fruits, like raisin.
Bit silky.
It’s not leaving a bad aftertaste,
which that’s a good thing.
I’d call it balanced.
The body is a little bit on the heavier side,
so I would indicate, for me,
that this is a relatively fresh coffee.
I’m a fan.
Oh, it’s Walmart? Look at you, Great Value.
[Anu] 100% Arabica Colombian Ground Coffee.
Bright and fruity. What a time!
This is actually really delightful.
I feel like I’m getting a lot more complexity of flavor,
and it’s just very surprising 'cause it’s in a tin,
it’s ground, and it still for some reason
maintained a level of freshness.
I’m pretty surprised by it.
I don’t it’s as good as the Dunkin’ Donuts.

I don’t distribute to supermarkets
